Te Anau

Today we decided to hang in the small town of Te Anau, halfway up the long and winding road to Milford Sound. Its scenic lakefront location and well-appointed campgrounds made for a pleasant (but drizzly) stopover. What better way to entertain yourself on a rainy day than with a personal sampler of the dark brews purchased the day before.

It's amazing how much dark beer, placed in the right container, looks just like coca-cola.  A brewery that let's you fill your own bottle to cut down on the price = Genius!

Our little tasting party was crashed when the local old man river entered the common room and communicated it was time to watch the news simply by turning the TV on right over our music. Sure sir, we'll just pack up our iPod and speakers and two laptops and cooler and beers and travel books and food and move over to this next room, which is empty and ALSO has a TV in it!

We topped off the night with some fire dancing and karaoke.  Obviously.
