We opted for the long and scenic route through Waitake Valley towards the coast. Cause there is really no better type of route when your camper vannin' around New Zealand.
The highlight of our journey was a stop at the 'elephant rocks'. Giant, windblown boulders strewn across a vast farmland, reminiscent of massive sleeping animals scattered about. Climbing, laying and posing on said boulders provided a good hour of entertainment.
